Ventolin Diskus is a bronchodilator that helps open up the airways in the lungs to allow more oxygen to get to the heart and lungs. It is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and to lower high blood pressure (high blood pressure in the blood vessels of the lungs) in adults and children older than 12 years old. It is used as a short-term treatment for asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and other lung conditions. It belongs to a group of medications called beta-2 agonists. It works by increasing blood flow to the lungs and reducing swelling (inflammation) in the airways.
Ventolin Diskus is a bronchodilator that relaxes the muscles in the airways and makes breathing easier. It also increases airflow to and from the lungs. This allows more oxygen to be delivered to the lungs and reduces swelling in the airways, which is beneficial for those suffering from asthma, COPD and other lung conditions.
Ventolin Diskus should be taken as a single dose, usually twice a day. It can be taken with or without food. Take Ventolin Diskus at the same time every day. Follow the prescribed schedule to get the best results. Do not take more than the prescribed dose unless directed by your doctor. Ventolin Diskus should be used as directed by your doctor.
The dose and frequency of Ventolin Diskus should be determined by your doctor. Your doctor will probably start you on a lower dose (e.g. 100 to 200 mg/day) and increase it as needed to find the optimal dose. Never adjust your dose without consulting your doctor. Ventolin Diskus is usually taken for a few weeks before the full benefit is seen. You may notice a reduction in symptoms, but the dose is still the same. Do not stop taking Ventolin Diskus without talking to your doctor first.

What is Asthma?
Asthma is a common lung condition that causes occasional breathing difficulties.
It affects people of all ages and often starts in childhood, although it can also develop for the first time in adults.
There’s currently no cure, but there are simple treatments that can help keep the symptoms under control so it doesn’t have a big impact on your life.
Symptoms
The main symptoms of asthma are:
● Wheezing (a whistling sound when breathing) ● Breathlessness ● A tight chest, which may feel like a band is tightening around it ● Coughing
The symptoms can sometimes get temporarily worse. This is known as an asthma attack.
Several conditions can cause similar symptoms, so it’s important to get a proper diagnosis and correct treatment.
Your GP will usually be able to diagnose asthma by asking about symptoms and carrying out some simple tests.
Treatments
The main types are:
● Reliever inhalers – used when needed to quickly relieve asthma symptoms (salbutamol) ● Preventer inhalers (steroid) – used every day to prevent asthma symptoms occurring ● Some people also need to take tablets.
Causes and triggers
Asthma is caused by swelling (inflammation) of the breathing tubes that carry air in and out of the lungs. This makes the tubes highly sensitive, so they temporarily narrow.
It may occur randomly or after exposure to a trigger. Common asthma triggers include:
● Allergies – to house dust mites, animal fur or pollen, for example ● Smoke, pollution and cold air ● Exercise ● Infections like colds or flu ● Identifying and avoiding your asthma triggers can help you keep your symptoms under control

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. The following side effects may happen with this medicine:
